How many times have any of us wondered what would we say, if we had the chance to go back and give our younger selves some advice or encouragement?
When you’re talking about a subject like this, what you want to impart on your previous self depends on how far back in time you want to go.
Speaking as someone in their mid-60s, who has changed direction more than once, the biggest jump would be back to visit my sixteen-year-old self. Back then, I was just out of school, with no qualifications and no prospects. My message to that boy would be, don’t worry, it’ll all sort itself out. It might not seem like it at the time but it will all make sense in the end.
